Prayer Cross Workshop
Join in Creating an Easter Art Installation for St. Dunstan's
No art experience required!
Once again we will be decorating the Nave at Easter with art created by the community here at St. Dunstan's. Everyone is invited to make a colorful "Prayer Cross" – painted, collaged with paper or fabric, tricked out with markers, whatever – and to write on it the names of people or issues for whom you pray. There will be several ways to participate:
After worship on March 3, come to the Parish Hall where tables will be set up with art supplies galore, and blank cross templates for you to decorate. Miss Amy will have already made Prayer Crosses with the children, but they are welcome to join in if you want to make a cross as a family.
Use one of the pre-decorated crosses that will be available, and just write your prayers on it.
Take home a "Prayer Cross Kit" that will include blank cross templates for you to decorate at home with your own supplies and at your own pace.
Kits will also be available on March 10, if you can't be here on the 3rd.
If you won't be here in person but want to participate, just let me know and I'll mail you a kit.
Most of the supplies provided will be recycled materials or scraps left over from previous art pieces. If you take a kit home to work on, you get extra bonus points for using recycled bits yourself.
All finished Prayer Crosses should be turned in by March 17, so I'll have time to engineer a way to include them all in the final installation. Let me know if you have any questions!
