St. Dunstan's Youth Group getting some well deserved R&R after helping repair homes in New York for the 2011 Work Camp. |
Middle School Group (Grades 6-8)
Led by parishioners, St. Dunstan's middle schoolers apply the lessons of scripture to the problems in the world around them. Each month focuses on a different service activity.
Youth Discussion Group (Grades 9-12)
High School Youth discuss the Bible readings for the day (the Lectionary). The discussion ends with the youth joining the rest of the congregation in the service in time to hear the sermon and learn how the preacher interprets the readings. Youth also meet at St. Dunstan's the first and third Sunday of the month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The program includes worship, discussion of social concerns, exploration of our own and other religious traditions, as well as movies, social gatherings, a variety of games and lots of pizza. Parents and other adults will be asked to be co-leaders for the meetings.
Confirmation Program
Every other year, about a dozen or more youth who think they would like to be confirmed go through a 12-week series in which each is praired with an adult mentor and has an opportunity to have his or her questions about faith addressed before confirmation at the National Cathedral.
